WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Why do independent camgirls choose not to work on camsites? The biggest reason is that camsites take a percentage of the girls' earnings, and it can be as big as 70%. Independent camgirls have often set up their own private payment system, so they get 100% of what they make, apart from transaction fees that normally are around 15% or lower.

But being independent also means that the girl has to make more effort, do her own marketing and manage billing herself, whereas the company takes care of all that for girls who do shows on camsites - all these girls need to do is wait for someone to enter their room. You might wonder where and how these independent camgirls do their shows. Most of them just simply use a messenger with a webcam feature, such as MSN, Yahoo, Eyeball Chat or even Skype. If the girl has a website, she also might have set up a cam room on her site. If you find them on a chat room/site that supports webcam, they may prefer using that feature.

  WHERE TO FIND INDEPENDENT CAMGIRLS

Independent camgirls seem to be everywhere for those who aren't interested in camshows. But if you are looking for them and don't have a clue where to start, it can be difficult, but once you find one camgirl, stick around, keep your eyes open and you'll probably meet more on the same site. Girls in directories will have their contact details i.e. messenger address in their profile. The only site for independent camgirls I will mention by name is Adultwork.co.uk, simply because it has a feedback system, so it's much safer than a regular listing site. You book the girls through the site, they either accept or deny, and you get her messenger address after you've confirmed. On AWN it's listed as a camsite, because of its DirectCam feature, but the main focus of the site is still on independent girls who do their webcam shows off the site.

  THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

The reason I didn't recommend any sites to find independent girls is that wherever there are legitimate, nice girls, there are also scammers, and I don't want to be held responsible if you happen to choose the wrong girl on a site I recommended. Adultwork.co.uk is indeed a little safer than most sites, as scammers who take your money and disappear will get kicked out pretty fast, and most people who play pre-recorded videos as live shows will get outed in their feedback section.

Scammers are the number one risk when booking a show with an independent girl, as they don't need to answer to anyone, i.e. a camsite. The majority of independent camgirls are legitimate and honest, and of course you can find the occasional video-playing scamgirl on any camsite aswell, but the truth is that scamming is much easier to do when people have no-one to complain to. Also, what's good to know when booking an independent camgirl is that the girl might not be online when you book the show. Of course, if you get hold of the girl personally, and talk to her, you can expect to get your show right away , unless she tells you otherwise. But if the girl's payment links are on a website, don't pay without contacting the girl first if you want your show immediately. This, of course, is obvious to most, but some people may be used to the camsite system and assume the girl is online and available if it's possible to pay her.
